Bay Pottery

Bay Pottery is a family owned business located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, tucked away among the Blue Ridge Mountains. The company was founded by Joe and Rheba McMichael in the late 70's in the Chesapeake Bay area (hence the name "Bay" Pottery). It began with Rheba throwing pottery in the basement and her husband Joe delicately hand-painting each piece. Much has changed since then, but not the dedication to the craft. Their son Co worked alongside them for many years and In 2019, the third generation of McMichaels stepped up to take on the craft and Lily has been running the studio since. The McMichael family is very proud to provide some of the finest in American Craftsmanship. Some 50 years later, Bay Pottery has relocated a few times, refined its pieces and glazes, and is now in hundreds of homes and shops all over the country and internationally.
