Collection: John Wirts

After a 30 year career as an Aquatic Biologist / Program Manager with WVDEP, I retired in 2022 and have resumed painting, something I had done in high school and early college, but largely ignored while focused on work and raising 2 children.  I have always been inspired by nature and try to depict the sensations and emotions that I experience in nature throughout all seasons – with a focus on Appalachian streams and mountains, and their inhabitants.
