I was born in Florida, the daughter of a career military man who was a world War II Marine and Air Force retiree. I have lived in Japan and several U.S. states, and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University. After a successful career as a Buyer and having raised my son to adulthood, I now am able to pursue full time my passion for art.

I am inspired by the world around me. I can see a bird on a post or an interaction between two people as I drive down the street – something inconsequential – and I can't wait to get home to paint. I love all kinds of music. When I see a musician baring his or her heart and soul playing the guitar or keyboard, my mind starts envisioning how I can communicate on my canvas the intensity of their emotion. Whether creating or collecting, I have always had an intense interest in art. I am a self-taught painter, but have taken a few lessons which have really boosted my proficiency and skill level. Like anything else, we never truly quit learning, but my lack of formal training reinforces my feeling that my work is truly my own. My attention to detail comes from my military upbringing, and my love of color in painting is inspired by the beauty that surrounds us everywhere and the joy in my heart.
